2018 UTME: When you’re to check your results – JAMB tells candidates

The JAMB’s head of media Fabian Benjamin has disclosed when some of the results would be released

– Benjamin declared that the results of examination that ended on Friday, March 16 would be ready by Monday, March 19

– He, however, said the board was delaying some of the results because each has to undergo total scrutiny before being posted on its website to avoid cancellations later The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has urged its 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates to patiently await the results of the just concluded examinations.

The head of media of the board, Fabian Benjamin, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday, March 17, in Abuja.

He said the board was working diligently to ensure that the results are processed and posted on the board’s website soonest.

Benjamin said that modalities were being put in place to ensure all the results are transparent and accurate.

He reiterated that the board was delaying some of the results because each has to undergo total scrutiny before being posted on its website to avoid cancellations later. According to him, some of the results would be ready by Monday, March 19.

He also assured that all technical difficulties encountered to access the website were being addressed.

Some of candidates who sat for the examinations earlier, were yet to receive their results. While some said that they received the reply of “your results are not ready yet”, others complained that the site says “you did not register for this examination.’’

The examination, which was scheduled to end on Saturday, March 17, ended on Friday, March 16.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that following complaints by some Muslim stakeholders in the country, the WAEC made some minor adjustments in its timetable for the 2018 May/June WASSCE. WAEC’s director of public affairs, Demianus Ojijeogu said on Saturday, March 17, that the board had to adjust the timetable to accommodate the interests of Muslims.

New: If El-Rufai is for war, we are also for war and a bigger war – Shehu Sani

If El-Rufai is for war, we are also for war and a bigger war – Shehu Sani

Author: Tunde Ososanya

– Senator Shehu Sani of the All Progressives Congress has stated that he would support any effort aimed at resolving the crisis in Kaduna state chapter of the party

– Sani was summoned by the leader of the party’s fact-finding committee on the crisis, Segun Oni

– The lawmaker, however, said that if Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state is for peace, he is also for peace, and if the governor is for war, then he is also for war and a bigger war The lawmaker representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani, has stated that he would support any effort at resolving the crisis rocking Kaduna state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sani gave the assurance on Sunday, March 4 in Abuja while speaking with newsmen after meeting with Segun Oni, leader of the party’s fact-finding committee on the crisis, NAN reports.

NAIJ.com gathered that Sani was summoned by Oni as his faction of the party could not meet with members of the committee when they visited Kaduna.

– Okorocha blows hot Sani maintained that he was in support of any effort that would restore peace, unity, and stability within the party in the state and the country.

He, however, added that it was in the interest of the party not to defer its problems and crises, but to solve them. According to him, there is no problem in the APC that cannot be solved, so long as the contending parties are ready for settlement.

“If one person is ready and the other person is not ready, certainly we are not going to make any headway. So, I very much identify myself with any effort that is aimed at bringing peace. “Our position is this if the governor of Kaduna state is for peace, we are for peace.

If he’s for war, we are also for war and a bigger war.” The lawmaker, however, said that it was the desire of everyone to come together and work to heal wounds. This, he said, was critical to restoring confidence and hope in the minds of millions of Nigerians that voted for the APC in 2015.

He added that a situation where some people within the party were treated as outcasts would not augur well for it. Sani also said that it was wrong for some people to be categorized as pro-Buhari and others as anti-Buhari within the party. He said that everyone who is in the APC was pro-Buhari, explaining that the difference was that while some were not sycophants, others were.

He, however, pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to personally intervene in the crisis in the party in Kaduna, saying that Buhari “is the glue that binds the members”.

He said: “I still see President Muhammadu Buhari as the glue of APC; if we don’t have Buhari in the APC, everyone will find his way to his home. So, as he remains the glue, he must also be up and be doing in addressing these crises.”.

According to him, the president`s philosophy of being for everybody and for nobody has led the party to nowhere. He said that addressing the crisis in Kaduna chapter was critical to averting the tragedy that may befall the party in upcoming elections.

The lawmaker added: “As far as I am concerned, the success of this party in the upcoming elections is dependent on how it would be able to manage the crisis and solve the problems. “The Segun Oni committee came to Kaduna and requested that we should all sheath our sword and bury our hatchet.

For now, we only covered our hatchet with leaves.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central senatorial district described the administration of Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state as a failure.

Sani, who has been in a long-standing battle with El-Rufai, urged the governor to shelve his presidential ambition for 2019 since he has failed as a governor.

In a widely reported statement on Wednesday, June 21, Sani slammed El-Rufai for sitting as governor and allowing insecurity to fester in the state.

Christians & Muslims Youths Clash In Kaduna Village

Christians & Muslims Youths Clash In Kaduna Village

Following a violent clash between Muslims and Christian youths in the community, an unconfirmed number of people were reportedly killed and several houses set ablaze in Kasuwan Magani village, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State Monday.

Another unspecified number of people were also said to have sustained injuries as the youth engaged each other with dangerous weapons.

There was no official confirmation on the casualties but unconfirmed reports said about 12 persons died during the clash, which was said to have occurred at about 10.30 a.m. Monday.

There were conflicting reasons for the cause of the outbreak of violence, with one version claiming that some Christian men went about beating Christian girls who were dating Muslim boys. Another version claimed that a Christian girl was abducted and converted to Islam and taken to the residence of the Sarkin (Chief of) Kasuwan Magani.

A Christian youth resident in the area who did not want his name in print alleged that the Muslims were abducting Christian girls and converting them to Islam.

Sources said the problem has been a long-standing one in the community. A source disclosed that recently a Christian girl was beaten by Christian boys, forcing her mother to report the matter to the police, but the police were chased away by other youths who were invited by the culprits.

Many residents, especially women and children, were said to have fled their homes Monday to safe areas as a result of the clash.

The community, which is about 31 kilometers away from Kaduna city, is located along the highway connecting Plateau, Nasarawa and Benue States, as well as the southern part of Kaduna State. Commuters plying that route were stranded for several hours following the incident. Residents alleged that security personnel did not arrive until around 2 p.m. when a combined team of soldiers and police were deployed to tackle the situation.

As of press time, the spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, Aliyu Mukhtar, told said that the situation had been brought under control.

Kaduna State Government Monday directed the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the violence and bring them to justice. The government, in a statement by Samuel Aruwan, spokesman for Governor Nasir el-Rufai, condemned the wanton destruction of lives and property. The statement called on all citizens and communities to reject violence and divisions and uphold their neighbors in peace and harmony.

-Little was shot while heading to his car after coming out from his farm with his driver at his side

– He was shot in the arm by the assailants who ran away after the attack thinking they had killed him

– He is set to undergo a surgery to remove the bullet in his arm at an undisclosed hospital in Kaduna Unknown gunmen have shot former Kano state chairman of the now defunct All Peoples Party (APP) Ibrahim Little.

Daily Trust reports that the attack occurred at Kidan-Dan town, near Birnin Gwari in Kaduna state on Sunday, February 25.

An aide of the former Kano state chairman of the APP, which later metamorphosed into All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), said the gunmen opened fire at Little and his driver while they were about entering into his car after coming out from the farm.

The aide said the assailants took to their heels after shooting, thinking they had killed Little, not knowing he was only shot in the arm.

“Probably thinking that he died, they ran back into the bush and after some time he was able to struggle and come out and drove to Kaduna with the driver.”

The politician is said to be currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed private hospital in Kaduna where an operation will be carried out to remove the bullet in his arm.

NAIJ.com recalls that Little decamped to the Peoples’ Democratic Party from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano state.

He explained that he decamped because he was not impressed with the party’s deliveries since it came to power.

New Post: “Not A Gospel Artist But Super Cool With Jesus” – Chance The Rapper

“Not A Gospel Artist But Super Cool With Jesus” – Chance The Rapper

American Hip Hop artiste Chance The Rapper says he finds sharing God’s word in public “fun and cool”. He said he is not a Gospel artist but a Christian who raps.

The multi-award winning rapper made this known during an exclusive interview when asked about his genre of music and if it was related to Gospel he said:

“I would never say I’m making Gospel music,” he explained, “but I love God. I love Jesus. And I’m super cool with saying that”.  Along with his Christian faith, Chance said his toddler, Kensli, played a huge role in his Christian faith.

“My life used to be a whole bunch of little dots on a timeline,” Chance continued. “After I had Kensli, it was like all of that became one dot. And it’s like my new life is, you know, so much better and so much more eventful and, like, purposed.”

In an interview with Teen Vogue last year, Chance talked more about the way he thinks about his music:

“One of my biggest fears with Coloring Book was that it would be labeled. I hate labels, I never sought out for people to recognize it as a gospel album. I don’t make Christian rap, but I am a Christian rapper.

“When I was going out and trying to fully give glory to God, in my setting, I feared that people would be dismissive of it, like, “This is Christian rap, I’m not trying to hear it.” But it’s the total opposite: People were very accepting of it. Whether they say, “I’m an atheist, but I love Coloring Book” or they say, “I’m so glad I was able to get closer to God through this project,” people had formed opinions about what I put into the world. I think that’s always the goal of art, is to make people ask themselves questions. Like Get Out!”

New Post: All Passengers Rescued As Dana Aircraft Crash Lands In Port Harcourt

All Passengers Rescued As Dana Aircraft Crash Lands In Port Harcourt

Dana Aircraft on Tuesday overshot the runway of the Port Harcourt airport in Rivers State and skidded into the nearby Omagwa bushes.

Just last week, the airline survived an embarrassing situation when an emergency door fell off on landing in Abuja.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) confirmed the incident.

Reports indicated that the 49 passengers on board the flight were petrified by the incident but were evacuated from the bush when the pilot was able to stop the aircraft.

FAAN’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, said no one sustained any injury in the incident

The incident was suspected to have been caused by torrential rain and heavy wind and storm which occurred in Port Harcourt but it was yet to be confirmed whether the pilot defied report indicating bad weather on the route.

The statement from the airline, which was signed by its spokesman, Kingsley Ezenwa, said the aircraft overshot the runway on landing when pressure caused by slippery runway or technical deficiency forced it to get out of the pilot’s control and skied out off the runway.

Ezenwa said the incident was caused by torrential rainfall and bad weather at the time of landing, but the passengers onboard disembarked from the flight unharmed.

“No casualty was recorded and all passengers and crew disembarked safely,” the statement said.
The airline also said: “We commend the Pilot-in-command who was able to control the aircraft to a complete stop before passengers and crew disembarked. We also wish to applaud the Captain for exhibiting the highest safety standards and handling the situation professionally.”

You are sabotaging my assignment – Tinubu tells Oyegun

– APC national leader, Bola Tinubu, accuses party chairman, John Oyegun, of violating the agreement both of them had at the party secretariat

– He alleges that Oyegun has unilaterally inaugurated officials parallel to the officials already heading the Kogi state chapter of the party – APC sets up committee to investigate disagreement in its Kaduna state chapter The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC),

Bola Tinubu, has accused the national chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun, of sabotaging efforts to reconcile aggrieved party members.

The Cable reports that Tinubu in a letter dated Wednesday, February 21, accused Oyegun of violating the agreement both of them had at the party secretariat when President Muhammadu Buhari gave him the assignment of reconciling aggrieved party members.

He said: “Disappointment greeted me when I discovered that you had swiftly acted in contravention of the spirit of our discussions.

Instead of being a bulwark of support as promised, you positioned yourself in active opposition to the goal of resuscitating the progressive and democratic nature of APC.” In the letter copied to the president, vice-president, Senate president and speaker of the House of Representatives, the APC national leader faulted the party chairman for allegedly taking actions to hinder the reconciliation process in Kogi, Kaduna, Kano and Adamawa states.

He said Oyegun had unilaterally inaugurated officials parallel to the officials already heading the Kogi state chapter of the party

“While this may place you insignificant affinity with those parallel officials you handpicked, this machination suggests no improvement in the welfare of the party in Kogi or at the national level,” Tinubu wrote.

He urged the APC national chairman to stop taking unilateral decisions with regard to the national and state chapters of the party. Tinubu also reminded Oyegun that the assignment of reconciling aggrieved party members was one given him by President Buhari. Meanwhile, the national working committee of the APC has set up a three-man committee to embark on a fact-finding mission to Kaduna state with a view to identifying the remote and immediate causes of the disagreement.

It will be led by the deputy national chairman (south), Engr Segun Oni and is expected to also identify the immediate causes of the disagreement and the circumstance that led to the demolition of the house of Senator Hunkuyi.

The committee is expected to report back to the NWC within a week. Other members of the committee are the national auditor, chief George Moghalu and Hajia Rahmatu Alliyu, national woman leader.

Nathaniel Bassey Pens Touching Message About Billy Graham’s Death

In the last 24 hours or so, News Media, social media and every other forms of Media have been awash with stories, captions and testimonies about this ONE LIFE. Billy Graham. Even secular News Media have spoken in such a honorable manner about this Man of God. As I read and listen closely, I’m yet to see anything that speaks about his material possessions. He hasn’t dominated global headlines because of riches and material wealth. But instead the whole of creation is standing because of the JESUS He preached so unmistakably and unambiguously, and the accompanying Life He lived. I read of Don Moen’s testimony whose Father in law was saved due to Billy’s Radio Broadcast in the 1950s. And because of that one experience changed the whole course of life of that family. One of whom is Don’s Wife. Imagine the number of Pastors saved, the Ministries Born, and the multitudes eternally saved because one man preached and lived JESUS.

I did a search on google this morning and found out the name BILLY GRAHAM was the most trending name in the World in 24 hours. Something many seek after. But something another man achieved even without seeking. But rather by seeking Christ’s kingdom and righteousness. And not just that – in the past 24 hours, there’s been so much mention of the name JESUS on secular news media and on social media because of Evangelist Graham. As I read all of these, it becomes clear what God intends our lives to be. One that dispenses the GLORY OF GOD. Paul puts it this way…. “But thank God! He has made us his captives and continues to lead us along in Christ’s triumphal procession. Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭2:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬.

As the body of Christ world over celebrates the transition of one of her generals, this occasion leaves me with some pertinent questions. What am I preaching? And How am I living? Am I preaching and living Christ? What fragrance is my life exuding? And what fragrance would it leave behind?

It is true what Jesus said, that a man’s life does not consist of the things that He owns.

And I dare to add, “but rather, about the LIVES He touched.” WHAT A LIFE !

Black Panther Star Letitia Wright Turns To Christianity

Black Panther Star Letitia Wright Turns To Christianity

Guyanese-born British actress, Letitia Wright who played the role of Princess Shuri – the little sister ofKing T’Challa (the main character of “Black Panther”) –  says she nearly walked away from acting during a difficult time in her life but that God led her back to her passion.

The young actress revealed that she once had a time when she struggled with idolizing acting which made her take a break and focus on her Christian faith.

“I was going through a lot, a very difficult time in my life and I just needed to take a break from acting because I really idolized it. So I came off from it and I went on a journey to discover God and my relationship with God and I became a Christian, It really just gave me so much love and light within myself. I felt secure and I felt like I didn’t need validation from anyone else or from getting a part. My happiness wasn’t dependent on that, it was dependent on my relationship with God.”

Wright claims that separating her sense of self-worth from the parts she gets has helped her as an actress.

“My happiness wasn’t dependent on [getting a part]. It was dependent on my relationship with God,”

The actress said she is grateful for her faith which continues to keep her centered.

“I am centered in who I am and I’m really grateful. I’m not perfect especially as a Christian. You’re not perfect but you’re walking every day and trying to just stay connected…It’s helped me a lot, and I’m really grateful.”
