He’s the God of the mountain,
He’s still God in the valley,
He’ll never let you down….

For there’s a story before glory,
There’s a light after the night,
He has promised He will do it,
Of this I’m sure, it will end in praise….

Chorus: Oh oh oh oh…
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh…….

VERSE 2. My days of struggles and pains are over,
Things are gonna get better,
Though I walk through the valley of shadow of death I fear no evil,
God is backing me up,
Friends have come and they’ve left me,
So much troubles around me,
God is working it out,
He’s the God of the mountain,
And He’s still God in the valley,
He’ll never let me down…Oh oh…

There’s a story before glory,
There’s a light after the night,
He has promised He will do it,
Of this I’m sure,
it will end in praise….
(Repeat Chorus)

It will end in praise,
What I face today,
It will end in praise,
I’m gonna see God’s face,
God will show His face,
Take the pains away,
It will end in praise,
Oh oh oh…..

(Repeat Chorus and Vamp)

Chorus 2:
It will end in praise,
I know,
Oh oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh…

There’s a story before glory,
There’s a light after the night,
He has promised He will do it,

AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young died, the iconic rock band announced Saturday. He was 64.

“Today it is with deep heartfelt sadness that AC/DC has to announce the passing of Malcolm Young,” a statement read on the band’s website. “Malcolm, along with Angus, was the founder and creator of AC/DC.”

Young, along with his brother Angus, founded the Australian rock band in 1972. He was the band’s longtime guitarist until April 2014 when he took a break. It was later revealed that Young had been suffering with dementia, according to Rolling Stone magazine.

The statement continued, “With enormous dedication and commitment he was the driving force behind the band. As a guitarist, songwriter and visionary he was a perfectionist and a unique man. He always stuck to his guns and did and said exactly what he wanted. He took great pride in all that he endeavored. His loyalty to the fans was unsurpassed.”

Angus Young, 62, added, “As his brother it is hard to express in words what he has meant to me during my life, the bond we had was unique and very special. He leaves behind an enormous legacy that will live on forever. Malcolm, job well done.”

Young is survived by his wife, Linda Young, and two children, Cara and Ross.

Cheap reflector based on soda can helps boost Wi-Fi signal

Cheap reflector based on soda can helps boost Wi-Fi signal

Are you having problems with your Wi-Fi signal? Do you have problems connecting to your network when you’re in certain parts of your house? If these problems sound like something that you have to deal with on a daily basis, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Wi-Fi problems are one of the biggest annoyances that affect the modern internet user.

That is why it is very good news that researchers at Dartmouth College have developed a cheap and effective way to both boost a Wi-Fi network’s signal and secure it all at the same time.

Our Softonic Solutions users are talking about the best USB Wi-Fi adapters for speeding up my laptop connectivityJoin the conversation now!

The system is built on the results of a simple experiment that saw a soda can being cut open and used to reflect the Wi-Fi signal from the router. The reflective surface of the can reflects and boosts the Wi-Fi signal. The researchers have used this principle to create an algorithm that can design custom schematics for a 3D printed reflector. Xia Zhou, an assistant professor of computer science at Dartmouth, said:

“With a simple investment of about $35 and specifying coverage requirements, a wireless reflector can be custom-built to outperform antennae that cost thousands of dollars.”

All users have to do is input the details of where the Wi-Fi network will be and where the user wants the signal to be strongest and weakest. The algorithm will then design a specific shape that, once 3D printed and covered in reflective foil, will boost the signal in the desired areas and block it from the areas it is not supposed to be. This way it can both boost the signal and help protect the network from outside interference if, for example, the router is placed next to a window. If done correctly, the results are impressive, as highlighted in the video below:

The researchers showed that their simple reflector could boost the signal by up to 22% to desired areas and lower it by up to 36% in places it wasn’t wanted.

Is this the cheap and effective solution to your wi-fi problems? Let us know in the comments below.

How to encrypt your hard drive and keep your folders and files safe

How to encrypt your hard drive and keep your folders and files safe

Security threats are everywhere online these days, so it is more important than ever to think about how you’re going to protect yourself. Our devices are treasure troves of files and data for thieves to try to get their hands on and, especially with laptops and mobiles, it is easier than ever for your devices to end up in the wrong hands.

This is why many security experts say data encryption is a basic step that everybody should take. Encryption enhances protection by storing data in an unreadable coded form that can only be unscrambled using the relevant security key.

Chances are your computer won’t automatically encrypt your files, but there are a number of different encryption options available to you. These include encrypting your entire hard drive, encrypting certain files and folders, and even encrypting the Basic Input Output System (BIOS) so that nobody can access the operating system on your hard drive. Each method has its own pros and cons, so let’s have a look at them in a little more detail now.

Encryption: How to keep your files safe

1. Full hard drive encryption

Encrypting your entire hard drive is the most effective way to secure your data. This safeguards against human error and means that, for example, you won’t be able to accidentally forget to encrypt certain files. Other benefits include the fact that even swap space and temporary files (which potentially contain important and confidential data) will be encrypted, and there being nothing to worry about should you lose your device.

There is a downside to entire hard drive encryption, and that is a negative effect on your machine’s performance. When all files, including your operating system’s files, are encrypted, every time they’re used they must be encrypted and then decrypted. This takes times and can slow things  down. As modern processors become more advanced, this will become less of an issue, but it is definitely something that needs to be considered.

Microsoft Windows BitLocker and macOS FileVault are common encryption programs

Windows 10 or Mac OS X users can use BitLocker and FileVault, their operating system’sbuilt-in whole disk encryption tools. The problem with BitLocker is that it requires Windows 10 Professional edition, which will cost $99 if the machine only has Home edition installed. If that is too much to pay, then an excellent option is VeraCrypt, which is an open-source full-disk encryption tool.

2. Encrypt certain files and folders

Another option is to encrypt only certain user files and not the operating system. This will have less of an effect on your system’s performance but it will require much more attention on your part and could lead to certain bits of important data being overlooked. There are a number of ways to do this:

  • Microsoft Office gives users the option to both encrypt and password protect files. The more recent the version of the Office program the higher the level of encryption available.
  • You can encrypt files and folders on Windows using the Encrypting File System. This is as easy as right-clicking on the folder or file in question, clicking Properties, and then clicking Advanced.

  • On a Mac, you can use Disk Utility to encrypt single files and folders easily.

3. Lock the BIOS with a password

Another option is to lock the hard drive using a password in the BIOS (basic input output system). The BIOS allows you to control your computer’s hardware with specific settings and even the loading of the operating system. If you set a password here, it’ll mean that the hard drive will remain locked, even if it is removed from the PC and placed in another one, unless the code is given. The added bonus about this form of encryption is that it doesn’t affect the performance of the machine that is running it, but the password will need to be entered every time it is switched on.

So there you have three ways to encrypt your files and data. Do you have any other methods to add? Let us know in the comments below.

He said: “The Enugu Port Harcourt road is in an extremely bad condition and tortuous to our people.

The Ninth Mile Oturkpo road is a car raker. The Aba Ikot Ekpene road is largely unmotorable. Work on the Second Niger Bridge has stopped, while the river Niger itself remains unnavigable due to the non implementation of the approved dredging contract. “Our exit by air is also threatened and the poor state of Enugu international runway a few days ago, Ethiopian airline tires were damaged as It was landing on that airport threatening the lives of the lives of the passengers there. “The terminal building and the cargo warehouse have also been abandoned.

Our local industries and small scale enterprises are folding up not only due to the little allocation of revenue due to our state and local government, because of the marginalisation in the creation of local governments and states, but also because only nine percent of nationally generated power is allocated to the South East. “Gas reserves that abound in the South East are being piped to Lagos and Northern Nigeria without any of it… around the industrial clusters in our stated. “Unemployment, hunger and starvation pervade our land. This is a very dangerous environment for peace owing to wide spread dissatisfaction. “These problems predated your administration but has reached a quintessence under your watch. We believe as a general trained to access dangerous circumstances and equipped with courage to confront them decisively, you will seize the opportunity to give our people the much needed assurance of a quick remedial action. “Our governors are doing their best giving their limited resources in view of the declining revenue of the country, we propose that the concession of federal roads in the South East be given to the South East governors so that partnering with the private investors, we can build the roads ourselves to our taste and standards, assuring you of its durability. “This will therefore make it possible for the Federal Government to have enough funds to take up the railway task in the South East and expand and upgrade them to standard pages. “Your Excellency, I have no doubts in my mind after our last discussions with you, that you will decisively and expeditiously address the many issues we presented to you and some of which I have highlighted today.” Meanwhile, President Buhari assured Igbo people that he will fulfil all the promises he made to them especially in the area of infrastructural development. President Buhari’s silent support for the southeast by Garba Shehu Author: Wale Akinola

UPDATED: 4 HOURS AGO VIEWS: 21259 Category: Local news SHARE ON FACEBOOK SEND VIA EMAIL SHARE ON FACEBOOK SEND VIA EMAIL Editor’s note: President Muhammadu Buhari will visit Ebonyi and Anambra states this week to commission projects and to endorse his party’s candidate for November 18 election in Anambra state.

In this article, reports that the senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Garba Shehu analyses the president’s silent development in the southeast region of the country. President Muhammadu Buhari’s two-day visit to the southeastern states of Ebonyi and Anambra is taking place at the most opportune juncture, to show support to a governor who has done so much in promoting the President’s policy on food self-sufficiency and to endorse his party’s candidate in a crucial vote to install a new governor through an election at the weekend in Anambra.

Given the unfortunate secessionist winds sown by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB the President’s visit should be seen as part of the measures promised by the administration, following successful cooperation between the federal government, the region’s five governors and the cultural leadership of the people, the Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo. This joint effort has in no small means achieved success in putting out the fires ignited by IPOB. The visit should go further in soothing frayed nerves and provide an opportunity to listen more to the cries of the people of the region.

READ ALSO: UI finally produces 1st first class graduate in History after 69 years of establishment This visit should give the nation a clear break in the mindset from the negativity that characterized the perception of the Buhari administration in the region, following his victory in the 2015 election in which a majority cast its lot with the former President Dr Goodluck Jonathan by giving him 2,464,906 votes, against Muhammadu Buhari’s 198,248 (more or less the same votes he got from one or maximally two of some local council areas in a populous State). Following the outcome of this election, some of the politicians who lost began to whip up fears of vendetta against the the region even when there was no basis at all for this. It may have been a defensive strategy. But it nonetheless led to emotional responses to the President expressed through anger, paranoia, fear, frustration, resentment and confusion. I recall that when he spoke on the subject of political patronage at the U.S Institute of peace, he described the way most democracies work that the one who gave 95 percent did not get the same as the the one gave five percent votes but said emphatically that “I am a different kind of leader”. He said, more or less in these words that he would be fair and just to all citizens irrespective of the way they voted and went on to add that this country’s constitution protects all citizens, all parts thereof by making specific provisions for fair and balanced distribution of appointments and projects known the federal character principle. This was misconstrued and used to whip up sentiment against him in states that did not vote for him, even after the transcripts of what he actually were published. This negativity had prevailed in spite of the conscious effort the President made to reassure the South-East by giving four of the region’s five states four senior cabinet posts, which are foreign affairs; industry, trade and investment; science and technology and labor, employment and productivity. And given the choices he made, the South-East Ministers today rank among the best this country has ever had if you look at their individual performances. If you go through the online newspapers of the country, everyday, every week and every year there are stories about marginalization against a people for whom the President is doing so much to ensure their security, dignity and prosperity. Beyond these misplaced fears, these south-easterners are a people known for their creativity, industry and hard work, from whose sweat the economy has benefited immensely. But it is equally true that they have not been served in due proportion by successive administrations in post-independence Nigeria. Had governments of yesteryears discharged their responsibilities to the region, and to the country at large, we might not have been in a situation of tensions and anger leading to violence and secessionist agitation which have their roots in the lack of infrastructure and opportunity for citizens to excel. By God, today’s investments in infrastructure and people should change all that. Beside the issue of political representation, federal roads in the South-East are a perpetual issue in our country. But each state in the country complains of bad federal roads. However, contrary to the notion that nobody in this government is doing anything about those roads, the region has a good number of roads paid for by the federal government that are under either completed or undergoing repairs/construction. As of May this year, there are 600 was kilometers of roads that are under rehabilitation/ construction across the South East zone’s five states which include: • Rehabilitation of Owerri – Umuahia Road Sections I, II, III in Imo/Abia States • Rehabilitation of Enugu – Port Harcourt Dual Carriageway Section II • Ongoing construction work on the Rehabilitation of Enugu – Port Harcourt Dual Carriageway Section II • Rehabilitation of Ikot Ekpene – Ikot Umuoessien – Aba Road in Abia / Akwa – Ibom States. • Ongoing construction work on the Rehabilitation of Ikot Ekpene – Ikot Umuoessien – Aba Road in Abia / Akwa – Ibom States • Ongoing construction work on the Rehabilitation of Enugu – Port Harcourt Dual Carriageway • Ongoing construction work on the Rehabilitation of Ikot Ekpene – Ikot Umuoessien – Aba Road in Abia / Akwa – Ibom States. • Enugu-Aba- Port Harcourt Expressway, which runs through Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia and Ebonyi States covering about 31 roads as well as construction of pedestrian bridges and flyovers, traffic signs and lights; the outstanding section of Onitsha-Enugu Road. • Umana-Ndiagu-Adaebele-Udi Road in Ndiagu, Nsukka—Oboloafor -Ihamufu Road • Ninth Mile-Nsukka-Oboloafor Road. • Ohafia-OsoRoad (In Ebonyi and Abia States: 11.7 km) • Nnenwe-Uduma-Uburu Road, Section1 (14 km in Enugu/Ebonyi) • Rehabilitation of Abakaliki-Afikpo Road; Section 1 (20.5 km) • Rehabilitation of Abakaliki-Afikpo Road Section 11 (19.5 km) • Construction of Obubra-Ikwo-Onueke-Nkomoro-Agba-Ezekuna-Ogboji-Nara-Cross River Border Road (7 km) • Aba-Port Harcourt Dual Carriageway (section 11) • Umuahia Tower-Aba Township Rail/Road Bridge Crossing (56.1Km) • Rehabilitation of Lokpanta-Umuahia Tower (59.5km) • rehabilitation of Calabar-Itu-Ikot-Ekpene-Aba-Owerri Section 111 • Ikot-Ekpene-Ikot Umuoessien-Aba Roadin Abia/Akwa-Ibom (43.2km) • Owerri-Umuahia Road, Sections 1,11 and 111 • The Ikot-Ekpene Border: Aba-Owerri Dualisation Road Section 1, Phase 1 (11.26km) • Mbaise-Ngwa Road Ohase 1 (14 km) • Amanwaozuzu-Uzoagba-Eziama-Orie-AmakohiaRoad (10km) • Oba-Nnewi-Okigwe Road Section 11, among others Of course there is the Second Niger Bridge about which so many lies have been told to our brothers in the southeast. A past president laid the brick once. Thereafter, he did nothing to actualize it. Having forgotten a promise made, he had a ceremony organized for him to inaugurate the project when the time to seek re-election came. When the Obi of Onitsha reminded the then presidential candidate of his earlier promise to do bridge, he got angry. He stopped short of calling the Obi a liar in his palace by outrightly denying ever making the promise. Now, on the Second Niger Bridge in Onitsha, Anambra State, the contractor had re-mobilized to site. In the budget proposals read last week at the National Assembly, President Buhari listed this bridge as one of the administration’s priority projects and announced an an allocation of 10 billion Naira expenditure for 2018. Other projects for the southeast include: Airport Terminal Building • Construction of New International Terminal in Enugu. Coastal rail project • The coastal rail line has its route alignment passing through Aba in Abia State and Onitsha in Anambra State. Maritime access With the dredging of the river Niger commissioned by NIWA, the yearning for maritime access to the sea by the south-east and the North as well, is just a matter of time for it to be realized. Good projects apart, in the southeast as in all other subregions, good governance is also necessary and the steps the federal government is taking to deal with corruption, terrorism, banditry and lawlessness have the effect of lifting this country out of poverty and lack of development. The country’s efforts to modernize its trade and investment by easing the process of doing business has already attracted the attention and acclaim of the world, and is giving Nigeria a quick rise in the ranking of countries. Known for their industrial and commercial prowess, there is no gain saying who the biggest beneficiaries are. On the basis of these projects alone, no one should have any reason to doubt the good intentions of the President towards the South-East. Even if some of the people may not support the government, they cannot deny that their region has got a fair deal from President Buhari. The President in his conscience is clear on all fronts that he has been fair to the region and will continue to encourage the efforts of each state as it strives to excel in one endeavor or another. The federal government’s support of Ebonyi state’s rice growing schemes leaned on a permanent solution to the fertilizer supply crisis in the country bears true testimony to a successful partnership between the center and the subregion. In the field of agriculture alone, we have seen this new synergy in the functioning of the governments at the center and the state. This is cooperative federalism at work, and at its best. Which in turn has led to a beneficial relationship based on mutual respect, hope and trust between the governor and the president in spite of political party differences. The fruit of this type of relationship commends itself to other leaders in the country to shed old mindsets and maintain caution while making statements and to not get carried away by emotions leading to unnecessary tensions. To help the nation move forward as one, the media for their part must decide against making unsubstantiated allegations and aspersions being leveled against the leadership at the center for the mere fun of catching the headlines. PAY ATTENTION: Read the news on Nigeria’s #1 news app The country needs this to maintain the delicate balance of the relationships between our diverse population and to avoid weakening our democracy. We need to do this and more to achieve something of substance for the nation. Finally, it is to be hoped that beyond putting out the fire of these misplaced fears, President Buhari’s visit would help to put the spotlight on the silent achievements of his administration in this distinct region so that the ordinary citizen will be reassured that he/she matters, and be rid of the notion that they are getting the short end of the stick. Even when downloading from the Google Play Store you need to be careful. Check the permissions the app asks for. Often, apps that include malware will ask for a lot of permissions so that they can quickly gain control of all of your phone’s data.

3. User ratings and reviews

As well as checking permissions, before downloading, you should pay close attention to the app’s user rating and any reviews it might have.

– You should do this even if you’re downloading well known apps to keep yourself protected against downloading fake or dummy apps.

4. Google Play protect

Make sure Google Play Protect is activated on your phone. To do so:

– Open your Android device’s Google Play Store app Google Play.

– Tap Menu Menu and then Play Protect.

– Turn Scan device for security threats on.

5. Back up you data

Keep your device backed up. You can do this:

– On your computer.

– Using a cloud based back up service like Google Drive.

– On a portable hard disk like a USB pen drive.

If you can, back up using 2 of the methods outlined above.

6. Stay up to date

Make sure your Android Security Patches are completely up to date. To do this:

– Go to Settings

– Click About Phone

– Check Android Security Patch Level

If you keep all of these things in mind you’ll keep yourself protected from most of the types of ransomware that are targeting Android mobile phones.

A woman says Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore sexually assaulted her when she was a minor.

Beverly Young Nelson said Monday that the alleged incident occurred in 1977, when she was a 16-year-old waitress in a Gadsden, Ala., restaurant where Moore, then 30, was a regular customer and would often flirt with her. Moore even signed her high school yearbook in December of that year, she said.

A week or two later, Nelson said, she was waiting to get a ride home from work from her boyfriend, who was late, when Moore offered to drive her. Nelson said that Moore groped her in his car without her consent. When she told him to stop, Nelson said Moore squeezed the back of her neck and tried to force her head “onto his crotch.”

“I was terrified,” Nelson said in a detailed statement delivered at a press conference in New York City, where she was introduced to reporters by her lawyer, Gloria Allred. “I thought that he was going to rape me.”

Nelson said that at some point Moore gave up and warned her not to tell anyone about the encounter.

“He then looked at me and said, ‘You are a child. I am the district attorney,’” Nelson recalled. “’If you tell anyone about this, no one will believe you.’”

A spokesman for Moore’s campaign did not immediately return a request for comment, but Moore, now 70, has fiercely denied previous accusations.

Nelson said that she met Moore at the restaurant when she was a 15-year-old waitress at the restaurant. Nelson said that on Dec. 22, 1977, she brought her high school yearbook to work, and Moore asked her to sign it.

“To a sweeter more beautiful girl I could not say ‘Merry Christmas,’” Moore allegedly wrote in the yearbook, signing it: “Love, Roy Moore, D.A.”

She showed the page to reporters at the press conference.

Nelson is the fifth woman to accuse Moore of pursuing a sexual relationship with them when they were teenagers. She said she was inspired to come forward by Moore’s other accusers.

“If I thought I was Mr. Moore’s only victim, I probably would have taken my secret to my grave,” Nelson said. “Mr. Moore no longer has any power over me, and I will no longer live in fear.”

Nelson said that her coming forward has nothing to do with politics, noting that both she and her husband, a truck driver, voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

“This has nothing whatsoever to do with the Republicans or the Democrats,” she said. “It has everything to do with Mr. Moore’s sexual assault when I was a teenager.”

Allred, who represented some of the women who accused President Trump and Bill Cosby of sexual misconduct or assault, called for a Senate hearing on the allegations. Nelson, Allred said, is willing to testify under oath.

On Thursday, the Washington Post published its bombshell report quoting a woman, Leigh Corfman, who alleged that in 1979 — when she was 14 and Moore was 32 — Moore partially undressed her and himself, touched her over her undergarments and guided her hand to touch him. The age of consent in Alabama was then and remains 16.

The story also quoted three other women who said Moore hit on them when they were 16 to 18 and he was in his 30s. Moore initially dismissed the entire report as “fake news” and an attack by “the Democratic Party and the country’s most liberal newspaper.” On Friday, Moore denied even knowing Corfman, who told the Post she with her mother when she met him. Her mother, Nancy Wells, confirmed her daughter’s account.

On Sunday, a defiant Moore told supporters that said he intends to sue the newspaper, and questioned the timing of the accusations.

“These attacks said I was with a minor child and are false and untrue — and for which they will be sued,” Moore said. “Why would they come now? Because there are groups that don’t want me in the United States Senate.”

“We do not plan to let anybody deter us from this race,” he added.

Moore’s wife, Kayla, suggested his accusers were part of a concerted smear campaign.

“This is the same Gloria Allred that did the very exact thing to Trump during his campaign,” she wrote in a Facebook post on Monday morning. “Going on two months now they’ve been on a witchhunt here.”

Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said the Senate should vote to expel Moore should he refuse to withdraw from the race.

“I believe the individuals speaking out against Roy Moore spoke with courage and truth, proving he is unfit to serve in the United States Senate,” Gardner said in a statement. “If he refuses to withdraw and wins, the Senate should vote to expel him, because he does not meet the ethical and moral requirements of the United States Senate.”

Earlier Monday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that he believes the accusations in the Post report are true and that Moore should step aside.

“I believe the women, yes,” said McConnell, who backed Moore’s GOP challenger, Luther Strange, in the primary.

Moore responded via Twitter.

The person who should step aside is @SenateMajLdr Mitch McConnell. He has failed conservatives and must be replaced.

Moore and Democratic candidate Doug Jones are vying for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions when he was appointed attorney general by President Trump. The special election is scheduled for Dec. 12.

Trump, who also backed Luther Strange, has yet to comment publicly on the allegations against Moore. Last week, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters aboard Air Force One that the president “believes that we cannot allow a mere allegation — in this case, one from many years ago — to destroy a person’s life.”

“However, the president also believes that if these allegations are true, Judge Moore will do the right thing and step aside,” Sanders added. “Regardless, the president must and will remain focused on representing our country on his historic trip to Asia where he has been treated with great respect and made unprecedented progress in further strengthening alliances and promoting America’s interests above all else.”

On Sunday, White House officials said they were disturbed by the allegations but cautioned against a rush to judgment against the Senate hopeful.

“I think that there’s a special place in hell for those who actually perpetrate these crimes,” White House director of legislative affairs Marc Short said on Sunday’s “Meet the Press” on NBC. “And I think Roy Moore has to do more explaining than he has done so far.”
